What’s Weblena Week?
We’re celebrating Webby X Lena because honey, season 1 was rough on our sweet baby gays and we need some goodness in the world. Spend the week sharing your love for small adventure lesbians with the rest of us by making the good good gay content the world needs.

Welcome Lena to the crazy adventure family with some derring-do. El Dorado? Tartarus? The high seas? Kyöpelinvuori? You name it, they can go there. Is there treasure there? Probably, because friendship is the greatest treasure of all!
3: Light/Shadow – Oct 16
Did you know “Lena” means “light?” Of course you did, because we’ve been suffering collectively since August. Light and shadow, literally or figuratively, healing or angst, do what you need to do. Get your headcanons in before they get jossed!
4: Date – Oct 17
What counts as a date when you’re already best friends? Is it a sleepover? Going to the movies? Saving each other from certain doom? Is this a date? Does she think it’s a date? What if she DOESN’T think it’s a date??? Calm down Webby, a date is whatever you want it to be! Just have fun!

Time Travel? AUs set in different a different era? Period costumes and retro fashion? Playlists of your favorite 80’s synth-pop Weblena songs? Groundhog Day effect? What if you’d had more time…? Or another chance…?

Halloween is soon! Actually, it was going to be sooner but I had to move the event up a week in case something awful happens in the first episode and we all get too sad to celebrate! Anything spooky: witches AU, more shadow angst, Halloween hijinks, Date night in the catacombs, fighting zombies…whatever! Get Creepy!
7: Free Day! – Oct 20
Oh my gosh, can you believe that Season Two Premiere?? Wasn’t it amazing??? Yeah, I haven’t seen it yet either, but I hope it brings good news for our girls! Do whatever you want today! Celebrate Season 2! No spoilers though!
Children in
abusive families aren’t accepted nor acknowledged as the valuable member of the
family. They’re being told they’re freeloaders, someone allowed to live in the
house who should be grateful they get to sleep there. They’re considered a
financial burden, and an emotional one, if they ever need attention or care.
They’re told to compare themselves to children who aren’t so lucky and are
starvng on the street, or being abused much worse my caretakers. They’re forced
to count their blessings, as if each and every one of them isn’t used against
them. They’re only being presented as the children to guests and outsiders, who
parents are trying to impress or play normal family game in front of. They’re
being used by parents to feel good about themselves, and then discarded as if
they’re worthless.
In healthy
families no child is considered a burden, or less valuable than any other
person in the family, it’s the opposite, the parents are able to acknowledge
that as the youngest and most vulnerable member, the child should get most
attention, care and help growing up and forming into an individual. In healthy
families there’s no question of letting the child be hungry if there’s food,
threatening them of losing place to sleep if they are able to provide a bed.
There’s no comparing the child to those who were less lucky, it’s parents who
question if they could do anything better, make the life of their child better.
Child doesn’t have to worry about finances, or have anything they have or do used
against them, they know whatever belongs to parents, is theirs as well, and
they know if something goes wrong, parents are going to have their back.
Healthy families give children feeling of safety, stability, value, confidence,
support, and community. They’re a pillar of strength for the child. Child doesn’t have to fulfill certain conditions to deserve it, or work tirelessly to deserve to be a part of the family. There’s no
game of pretense in front of outsiders, they’re not only a child of these
people in certain conditions or when the parents find it convenient, they’re
treated well at all times.
Finally I finished it!! I was drawing the first half for at least half a year going back and forth to it and then I got too excited about finishing it and I drew the whole second part in like three days, ahah!

!! Sure! Mostly I just meant the suffixes and pronouns and “degree of politeness” and whatnot he uses that gets lost in translation.
Just saying, I’m not Japanese myself and I’m not a full-fledged expert in Japanese language and culture. I do think I generally know what I’m talking about, but if I made any mistakes in terms of interpretation please let me know!
Here’s Hawks mentioning who ranks how in terms of sheer popularity. He uses “ore” for himself (and he’s #2 in popularity). When referring to all other pro heroes, he uses the suffix ‘-san’.
We know Hawks is from Kyushu– though where in Kyushu specifically hasn’t been stated yet.
It’s pretty far from Tokyo, and irl the accent/suffixes and everything are REALLY different– though not to the degree of the Ryukyu Islands’ language differences from the rest of Japan, it can be really difficult for speakers of the standard Tokyo dialect to understand Kyushu dialects.
Hence why Toph Beifong is my favorite badass character ever. Followed by Zuko of course. 😝
I love that Toph believes that she is one of the most badass people ever to exist in the Avatar universe, is not shy about saying so, and is absolutely correct.
Shit, just watch the way she curbstomps Korra without even trying.
